Itinerary
Arrive at Aix-en-Provence TGV station or Marseille Provence Airport, where a private transfer will take you to your hotel in Aix-en-Provence.
Depending on your arrival time, enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Settle in, stroll through the old town, pause for an aperitif, or ease into Provence at your own pace.
Spend the day in one of France’s most celebrated wine regions.
Your private guide will take you towards Châteauneuf-du-Pape for visits and tastings at selected wineries. Learn about the region’s historic vineyards, its connection with the Avignon papacy and the distinctive character of its red and white wines.
Lunch is at leisure, with the option for France Travel Solutions to assist with a restaurant recommendation or reservation, subject to the day’s routing.
Enjoy a free day to discover Aix-en-Provence at your own pace. As it is market day, the old town will be filled with colourful stalls selling fresh produce, cheeses, olives, flowers, fabrics and Provençal specialities. Browse the markets, explore local boutiques and galleries, or relax over lunch in one of the city’s charming squares.
Head south towards the Mediterranean for a day of sea air, limestone cliffs and Provençal coastal charm.
Visit Cassis, a picturesque fishing village known for its harbour, markets, boutiques and access to the Calanques. A boat ride offers views of the famous inlets and turquoise waters, followed by time for lunch at leisure.
In the afternoon, continue via the dramatic coastal scenery around Cap Canaille before enjoying a wine tasting in the Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire area.
Depart Aix-en-Provence and travel through the landscapes of the Alpilles. Visit Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, one of the region’s most beloved villages, before continuing to the dramatic hilltop village of Les Baux-de-Provence. Afterwards, transfer to Sète for embarkation on your hotel barge cruise.
