Itinerary

PRAGUE - LITOMERICE - BAD SCHANDAU - DRESDEN - MEISSEN - LUTHERSTADT WITTENBERG - BURG - GENTHIN - BERLIN

Passengers are welcome to board our ship in Prague starting at 6:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we'll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. We'll enjoy dinner on board.

We'll spend the morning cruising towards Prague.

Optional excursion: Guided tour of Old Prague. You will head to the Old Town Square, with its charming arcade houses, today the most visited place in Prague, the statue of Jan Hus, the reformer who was burned in 1415, the Town Hall with its famous Astronomical Clock, which reveals the 12 apostles every hour, the Church of Our Lady before Týn (exterior), the Ungelt Passage, and the Merchant's Courtyard. You will also see the Municipal House, the most beautiful Art Nouveau gem in the city, and the Powder Tower, a 75-meter-high Gothic monument, which once served to guard the route to Kutná Hora.

In the afternoon, optional excursion: The Castle District. A symbol of the glorious past of the Czech people, the Prague Royal Castle is at the heart of the country’s political life, as it is the residence of the President of the Czech Republic. Located on a hill overlooking Old Prague and Malá Strana, this monumental complex rises from a crown of gardens and rooftops, its long horizontal façade crowned by the towers of St. Vitus Cathedral and St. George's Monastery. You will admire beautiful churches (St. Vitus Cathedral, Strahov Monastery) and splendid palaces (Cernin, Belvedere). Then, wander through the historic streets (New World, Golden Lane).

Return to the boat. Enjoy an evening of entertainment.

We'll spend the morning cruising towards Horin (lock).

Optional excursion: guided tour of Litomerice. The picturesque town of Litomerice is located on the banks of the Elbe, at the boundary between a large agricultural plain and the mountainous, wooded landscapes that characterize the high plateaus of central Bohemia. The historic center of the town is almost entirely surrounded by fortifications dating from the Gothic period. You can admire architectural gems, such as Mírové náměstí, a square lined with medieval houses of original construction, some of which are among the oldest inhabited houses in the Czech Republic. Local specialties will be served at the end of the tour.

We'll return on board in Roudnice and cruise towards Litomerice. Enjoy an evening of dancing.

We'll spend the morning cruising in the Saxon Switzerland region. Stop at Bad Schandau.

Optional excursion: the Elbsandsteingebirge (Elbe Sandstone Mountains in Saxon Switzerland). Geologically, the origin of this landscape dates back four million years. During the Cretaceous period, the region was still submerged. The subsequent erosion wore down the rocks, giving them their spectacular shapes. The landscape is characterized by tower-like rock formations. The interplay of light and shadow, the passage of time, and the wind constantly change these shapes, offering new perspectives. Visit to the Königstein Fortress, a unique example of European fortified architecture. This impressive ensemble of buildings, featuring flamboyant Gothic, Baroque, and 19th-century styles, reflects its history of over 750 years. The ramparts offer beautiful views of the Elbe.

We'll return on board and cruise towards Dresden. Enjoy an evening of dancing.

In the morning, optional excursion: Dresden, the "Florence of the Elbe." Your visit will begin with a panoramic tour where you will enjoy a stunning view of vast green spaces such as the Great Garden, the banks and hills of the Elbe, prestigious villas, major buildings like the football stadium, and the VW factory. Then, you'll explore the Old Town on foot, passing through the iconic Theatre Square, where you'll admire architectural masterpieces from Baroque, Renaissance, and other styles. You will catch a glimpse of the Semper Opera, the magnificent Zwinger (a Baroque palace), and the George's Tower. Next, you'll walk along the Brühl Terrace, known as the "balcony of Europe," lined with an exceptional collection of Baroque and Neoclassical architecture that overlooks the Elbe along the southern bank.

We'll return on board and cruise towards Meissen.

Optional excursion: Guided tour of Meissen and discovery of its Christmas market. Experience the historical charm of this medieval town dominated by the 15th-century Albrechtsburg Castle. Meissen is also known for producing some of the finest German porcelain. You’ll discover the old town, its large square lined with Renaissance houses, the Town Hall, and the Church of Our Lady, both in Late Gothic style. At this time of year, the magic of Christmas is in the air, with the streets glowing with lights and the scent of mulled wine and traditional pastries filling the air. Wander through beautifully decorated chalets showcasing a wide range of local crafts: decorations, candles, sculptures, pottery, and much more.

Christmas dinner. Christmas Mass in Meissen (3-4).

Night sailing.

Early in the morning, departure from the boat towards Wittenberg. Morning spent sailing on the Elbe. The UNESCO Biosphere Reserve along the Elbe features a unique natural and cultural landscape, with pristine floodplains, white sandy beaches, and wooded peaks.

Arrival in the early afternoon at Wittenberg.

Optional excursion: Wittenberg, the city of Luther. Departure to the city center with its beautiful Renaissance-style patrician houses. You will see the Town Hall, in front of which stand statues of Luther and his disciple Melanchthon. Landmarks such as the Castle Church, considered the heart of the Reformation, as well as the homes of Luther and Melanchthon, are part of the city's heritage. Visit the house of Martin Luther (2), which served as his home and workplace for 35 years. Today, it houses the largest museum in the world dedicated to the history of the Protestant Reformation. Then, visit the Gothic St. Mary's Church. Further along, you will spot the Cranach House, where portraits are now spread across the greatest museums.

Enjoy an evening of entertainment on board. Night navigation.

Early in the morning, departure towards Burg.

Optional excursion: Magdeburg. First mentioned in a manuscript in 805, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt surprises with its diversity and its rich history spanning over 1200 years. You will discover the Magdeburg Cathedral and the Church of Our Lady cloister, the most remarkable historical monuments of Magdeburg's cultural heritage. You will also catch a glimpse of the Green Citadel with its colorful facade, the Market Square, the equestrian statue of the Magdeburg Horseman, the Town Hall, and its bronze portal.

We'll return on board in Genthin and cruise towards Berlin.

Enjoy an evening of entertainment.

In the morning, optional excursion: panoramic tour of Berlin. The German capital captivates with the diversity of its tourist attractions, its cultural richness, and its dynamic yet relaxed lifestyle. The contrasts between historical buildings and contemporary architecture define the city and tell the story of an entire nation, from the Brandenburg Gate to the Chancellery. You will see the Victory Column, with a statue of Bismarck nearby, followed by the Brandenburg Gate next to the Reichstag and its glass dome, Museum Island, Alexanderplatz with its Television Tower, and Checkpoint Charlie. Finally, a stop at the Christmas market at Gendarmenmarkt, one of Berlin's most beautiful squares. Between the French and German Churches, you’ll immerse yourself in a festive atmosphere surrounded by thousands of Christmas ornaments and lights. You’ll discover treasures of craftsmanship: glassblowers, goldsmiths, candle makers, and tailors.

In the afternoon, optional excursion: Visit to the New Palace. This magnificent palace in Sanssouci Park symbolizes the power of Prussia. Unlike the intimate Sanssouci Palace, the New Palace is a building with long rows of rooms, banquet halls, and sumptuously decorated galleries. You will visit the Marble Hall, the Grotto Hall, the Concert Hall, and the Palace Theatre. Free time before returning to the boat.

Gala evening.

Enjoy one last buffet breakfast on board before disembarking at 9:00 a.m. End of our services.
