Itinerary

VENICE - MAZZORBO - VENICE - CHIOGGIA - VENICE

You'll board our ship at 6 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, we’ll introduce our crew at a welcome cocktail. Enjoy dinner on board and take advantage of a free evening in Venice.

In the morning, we'll visit the La Scuola Grande di San Rocco and the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. La Scuola Grande di San Rocco is one of the most important museums in Venice for connoisseurs of Venetian paintings. Bartolomeo Bon oversaw its construction in the 16th century before it was passed on subsequently to Sante Lombardo, Antonio Scarpagnino, and lastly, Giangiacomo dei Grigi. Some of the best artists of the time decorated the halls, which means that you'll discover paintings by some of the great Venetian masters on the walls and overhead. Learn historic influences dating back at least eight centuries during a tour of the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari. The building itself, the stained glass windows, and numerous paintings (including The Pesaro Madonna by Titan) are all simply stunning.

Enjoy some free time in Venice this afternoon. Don't forget to cross the Rialto Bridge as you stroll the streets of the most romantic city in the world. The bridge offers some of the best views of the canals and historic buildings.

Onboard presentation (in French only).

At the end of the afternoon, a private boat will take you to a concert in the San Vidal Church.(1) The acoustics are perfect for a timeless musical moment. The concertos and sinfonias played by the famous Interpreti Veneziani group feature maestros such as Mozart, Bach, Vivaldi, and Handel.

Conference on board. The morning will be spent cruising through the Venetian Lagoon. Take in the gorgeous views from the Sun Deck. The canals and islands form a giant maze as we glide past the bustling boats and unique scenery. We'll reach the island of Mazzorbo and cross the wooden bridge to charming Burano.

In the afternoon, discover Burano and its Lace Museum. Your feet will take you to the island—known for its traditional lacemaking and picture-perfect homes that border the canals. We'll visit the Lace Museum in the lacemaking school founded by Countess Andriana Marcello in 1872 in an effort to promote the ancient tradition. The museum displays more than 100 examples of the school's impressive work. Personal stories enhance the history of lacemaking in Venice from the 16th to 20th centuries.

Enjoy a free evening in Mazzorbo. Discover the timeless atmosphere on this small island, far from the hustle and bustle of Venice.

Our ship will spend the morning cruising to Chioggia. Conference on board. We will cross the Venetian Lagoon, which extends almost 30 miles (48 km). Its panoramic views have enchanted visitors since the beginning of time. To the south, a sandbar called The Lido protects the lagoon from the Adriatic Sea. Take in this spectacular scene as you sip a cocktail on the Sun Deck.

In the afternoon, join us for an excursion to Vicenza (3-hour round-trip travel time). The city is the epitome of gorgeous Italian landscapes, art, food, and wine. The most beautiful buildings are found around the Piazza dei Signori. Here, you can take in the beautiful facade of the Teatro Olimpico, which opened in 1585 and contains the oldest standing stage set still in existence. The theater was the final design by Italian Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio and is part of the sites listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the city.

We'll return on board the ship. We'll cruise to Venice as the sun sets, creating a marvelous show.

In the morning, tour La Fenice Opera House. From the outside, the opera house seems less fussy than other historical buildings in Venice, but don't judge a book by its cover! As soon as you walk through the theater doors, you enter another world. A grandiose scene awaits you—from the authentic seats to the gigantic chandeliers, all surrounded by colorful walls, decorations, and angels painted on the ceiling above. The prism of colors—orange, red, sky blue, green, and gold—makes the theater a true feast for the eyes.

In the afternoon, enjoy some time exploring the city on your own this morning. Use the time to stroll down the sinuous callis and discover what lies off the beaten path. Discover the sottoporteghi passageways, hidden bridges, and countless chapels. And while you're walking, don't forget to look up at the treasures found above you. Or take advantage of your free entry to the Biennale Arte

Tonight is our festive gala evening.

Enjoy breakfast on board this morning before disembarking at 9:00 a.m.
